Kiehl’s Charitable LifeRide Raises $85,000 for amfAR
Posted On: August 19, 2010

Not exactly Katee news but she did take part in the event and they have some pictures of her on their website.

From Cycle News

Motorcycle-riding celebrities joined forces with Kiehl’s (New York-based purveyor of skin- and hair-care products) in the fight to find a cure for AIDS, and to raise awareness of this devastating disease, by riding up the California coast from San Diego to San Francisco August 2-7, culminating in the donation of $85,000 to amfAR, a leading organization dedicated to the support of HIV/AIDS research. The ride was led by Chris Salgardo, president of Kiehl’s USA, and Alain de Cadenet, Le Mans racer and TV motorsports host, and included approximately 20 celebrity motorcycle enthusiasts.

The group made stops at Kiehl’s stores along the route to present donations – a total of $60,000 over the course of the ride – to amfAR. Kiehl’s also introduced a Limited Edition Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15, which features a specially-designed motorcycle-and-flame motif, and donated up to $25,000 of the profits from the sale of this product to amfAR.

Battlestar Galactica Online Gets Some Familiar Faces
Posted On: August 14, 2010

From IGN

When it was announced that Bigpoint – a developer of web-based games – had acquired the Battlestar Galactica license and intended to create an MMO with it (to be called Battlestar Galactica Online), it was met with a mixed response from our commenters. The response was based purely on the fact that it was to be free-to-play and browser-based, and typically browser-based is associated with “cheap and/or ugly”. There was understandable speculation that it would be a standard game with few ties to the much-loved Battlestar Galactica universe.

Today, it was announced that many major characters from the popular SyFy show would have a presence within the game, rendered in fairly impressive 3D, considering it is running in your browser.

According to the announcement, the game will contain the likenesses of:

Human
William “Admiral” Adama portrayed by Edward James Olmos
Kara “Starbuck” Thrace portrayed by Katee Sackhoff
Lee “Apollo” Adama portrayed by Jamie Bamber
Galen “Chief” Tyrol portrayed by Aaron Douglas
