Katee’s birth name is Kathryn Ann Sackhoff and she’s 5′ 6½” (1.69 m) tall.

She has 2 dogs, one named “Meatball” and a newly adopted puppy she named “Nelly B” after her character on “The Education of Max Bickford” (2001).

Her “Battlestar Galactica” (2004) co-star Tricia Helfer is one of her best friends.

Practices yoga regularly and goes on 10-mile runs every Sunday.

Decided to quit smoking when she received fan mail from little girls saying they wanted to be like ‘Starbuck’ when they grew up.

She currently she has 2 tattoos:

01. On the back of her neck is a Japanese kanji symbol for ‘choice’ which is rarely seen in the series and one of the reasons she grew her hair longer between the mini-series and Season 2.
02. She has one tattoo on her left forearm that reads “Bona fiscalia,” which means “public property” in Latin. It is visible in numerous episodes.

She also used to have a cross on her back that is covered by large bandages whenever her shoulder is uncovered, such as in the episode “The Farm” (Christianity exists only in a different form in Battlestar Galactica) but she got it removed.

Her mother used to say that Katee used to be the class clown, who needed to be the center of attention.

She doesn’t read the SciFi.com message boards, but she does claim to read and answer all of her fan mail.

When watching the original Star Wars, she developed a crush on Han Solo.

If Katee had any superpowers it would be to be able to read people’s thoughts, to figure out what guys are thinking.

She seriously turned to acting only after her knee injury kept her from competing in sports at her high school.

She starred in many high school productions including: Bye Bye Birdie, Oliver, and Fiddler on the Roof.
